Job description

The team of Supplier Quality Engineering is part of the Purchasing department, hence reporting into the Purchasing Manager, and working collaboratively with many internal and external stakeholders.

  • The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for validating and preparing R&D designs, composing the engineering and manufacturing specifications into dossiers and communicate these to the selected supplier making sure he has full understanding of Xeikon’s requirements, both on technical as on implementation timing level which will guarantee a seamless introduction into Xeikon’s operations;
  • He/she follows a “zero defect” mentality and educates the supply base consequently;
  • Establishes and maintains a supplier audit system and schedule;
  • Conducts supplier audits to drive continuous improvement of both supplier processes and Xeikon designs for industrialization;
  • Supports the Strategic Buyers in identifying new suppliers/materials/technology opportunities  that can drive TCO improvements;
  • Defines specific short and long term quality goals, discuss and implement process controls and release tests with the supplier and implement necessary incoming inspection plans at Xeikon to guarantee quality of all incoming materials and assemblies;
  • The SQE is managing complaint handling towards the supplier: sending out complaint reports, following up, actively evaluating provided complaint answers and 8D reports is essential in analyzing issues and eliminating root causes in order to prevent recurrence of non-conformances;
  • He/she is capable in resolving impact of supplier defective parts  in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply;
  • Develops and maintains a supplier quality reporting tool and reports monthly on supplier quality performance;
  • Manages the rework process and is capable of creating clear working instructions;
  • Evaluates service requests for non-standard spare parts and define optimal and timely solutions;
Profile
  • You hold a master degree in scientific or technical area, preferably electronics/electro mechanics or a bachelor with added relevant extra-curricular certificates;
  • You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced OEM environment, in a quality or operations role;
  • You have experience in using quality system methodologies (8D, Six Sigma,…);
  • You are a hands-on team player with good communication skills (oral as well as written, Dutch and English is a minimum);
  • You have great problem solving skills and are able to work independently but with correct level of stakeholder consultation;
  • You have advanced computer skills (Office, SAP, Project planning) and excellent analytical skills;
  • You are eager to learn and stress resistant;
  • Prepared to travel to suppliers (majority of supplier base within driving distance, occasional flying involved)
